Big Brothers Big Sisters of El Paso Kick Off Annual Toy Drive to Bring Joy and Support to Kids in Need
Big Brothers Big Sisters of El Paso just kicked off their annual Toy Drive, and it is sure to be a success! This amazing initiative brings smiles to kids in need by gifting them with holiday cheer. It’s an especially great way for people to give back to their community and make an effort to bring some joy into children’s lives. Participating in the Toy Drive means more than giving presents; it also shows children that someone cares about them and that they are part of something larger.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is an organization that provides mentoring and support services to children of all ages. Its mission is to provide strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that help children reach their highest potential. The organization was founded in 1904 by New York City court clerk Ernest Coulter and it has grown into the largest volunteer-supported mentoring organization in the United States. Big Brothers Big Sisters focuses on providing guidance, support and friendship to children who may be facing difficult circumstances.
The organization works with schools, social service agencies, churches and other community organizations to match volunteers (or “Bigs”) with children (“Littles”). The goal is for adults to act as mentors and role models, providing guidance and support to the children they work with. Big Brothers Big Sisters has helped millions of children build confidence, gain self-esteem and succeed in school and beyond. By spending time together, building a relationship, talking about what is important to them both and simply having fun, Bigs provide Littles with a safe and healthy environment that allows them to thrive.
